ITINERARY:

Day 1 : JAKARTA – SUMUR – HANDEULEUM ISLAND
Depart Jakarta at about 7.30 pm, direct transfer to Labuan by private chartered vehicle. Take a break in Labuan for lunch at the favorite “Warung nasi Ibu Entin”. After lunch the car is to take us directly to the last small town before the park boundary Sumur. From this place we get to Handeuleum Island by chartered wooden boat. Rest of the day is free, overnight at Handeuleum Lodge.

Day 2 : HANDEULEUM ISLAND – CIGENTER RIVER – PEUCANG ISLAND

Early in the morning the boat is to take us to the estuary of Cigenter, we get into the mouth of the river by a rubber boat for the amazing canoeing trip following the river. The vegetation at the both side of the river’s bank is dominated by “Nipah” palm, some kind of mangrove and low land plants. This river is one of the best place for wildlife watching in the Ujungkulon peninsula. In this locality we have more chance to see various wild animals such as: salt water crocodile, wild cattle, king fisher, hornbill, fish eagle and even Javan Rhino (if we are lucky).
Return to the island at about 11.00 pm, after lunch we leave Handeuleum for Peucang Island (it takes about 2 hours).
At about 4.00 am we get to Cidaon for another wild life watching at the savannah. Wild cattle, wild pig, peacock and some other birds are often found around this grazing ground.
Rest of the day is free. Optional program: trekking from the lodge to Karang Copong in the northwest coast of the island to enjoy the sunset view, snorkeling at coral reef around the island or just swimming at the white sandy beach near the jetty. Stay overnight at Fauna Lodge.

Day 3 : PEUCANG ISLAND – SUMUR – JAKARTA
